Conference: Communist repressions in Georgia and in Poland 1918–1989/1991

On May 7-8, Ilia State University hosted the International Conference "Communist Repressions in Georgia and Poland 1918-1989 / 1991" which was organized by the Soviet Past Research Laboratory.

Polish and Georgian historians have talked about communist repressions and assessed social and cultural consequences of the communist period. The researchers of the Soviet Past Research Laboratory Irakli Khvadagiani and David Jishkariani delivered the reports on this period.


The conference was organized by the Soviet Past Research laboratory, the Ilia State University, the Institute of National Remembrance with the support of the Polish embassy in Georgia and of the Polish Institute in Tbilisi.
