Archive Department of Ministry of Interior of Georgia

The archive division of the informational analytical department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and Soviet Past Research Laboratory have been collaborating since the establishment of the latter.

 

It is the materials gained at three various archives of the archive division that are among those sources, upon which the research of Soviet Past Research Laboratory is based.

 

In accordance with the agreement with the informational analytical department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Soviet Past Research Laboratory is granted the right to publish the materials gained in archives in public space (including the web-page of the organization).

 

The cooperation between the archive division and Soviet Past Research Laboratory continues in 2011 as well within the project “Soviet Tbilisi”.

 

“The archive division of the ministry of internal affairs represents the integrity of the archives of the ministry of internal affairs and the former ministry of national security and it has three archive repositories where more than two million registered items are safely kept. The division consists of three departments and one group. The repositories of the division are located on the following addresses:

 

1. 72 Vazha Pshavela Avenue, Tbilisi – the building of so-called “Module”;2. 10 General Gia Gulua Street, Tbilisi – the administrative building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;3. 12 Gobronidze Street, Tbilisi – the building of “Sakartvelos Elektrokavshiri”;
