Since 2018, Soviet Past Research Laboratory has been involved in the project by German War Graves Commission and German Historical Institute Moscow which aims to create a unified and open database of WWII POWs. Sovlab is studying the fate of German and other POWs in Georgia, their personal identification, systems of the prison camps as well as defining precise data on former Georgian POWs.
